On November 29, Kamilla set up her pink yoga mat on rocks near the Gulf of Thailand. The peaceful moment turned deadly as waves measuring two to three meters struck unexpectedly, pulling her into the ocean.
On social media, the footage captured her desperate struggle against the current, with her yoga mat seen floating nearby.
Local authorities were alerted at 1:30 p.m. A bystander attempted to rescue Kamilla, but the strong waves made it impossible.
Rescuers arrived 15 minutes later but had to abandon the search after 30 minutes due to dangerous conditions.
Kamilla’s body was found days later, approximately two-thirds of a mile from where the incident occurred.
Authorities warned about dangerous conditions after actor’s death.
Chaiyaporn Subprasert, head of the Samui Rescue Center, emphasized the dangers during monsoon season.
“We constantly warn tourists about high-risk areas like Chaweng and Lamai beaches,” he said. Red flags signal unsafe swimming conditions, and even non-swimming areas like scenic viewpoints can be hazardous.
Following the incident, Samui City Municipality has closed access to the dangerous rocky area below the viewpoint.
