A Disney fan explains the surprising policy allowing park staff to enter hotel rooms without permission, raising concerns among guests.

A recent discussion has emerged about the policies at Disney resorts regarding room checks.

A TikToker, known as The Mouselets, shared some surprising information that many guests may not know.

According to this superfan, Disney staff perform daily room checks in every hotel room, which has sparked a lot of debate among guests.

What are room checks?

When people stay at hotels, they expect some level of privacy.

Usually, hotel staff come in to clean the room or provide fresh towels.

Guests often hang a “Do Not Disturb” sign on their door to keep staff out.

However, at Disney Resorts, this is not the case.

The TikToker revealed that Disney staff enter rooms daily for safety checks, regardless of whether a guest wants them to.

The purpose of these checks is to ensure that everything is safe and that there are no suspicious activities.

While this might sound reassuring, it has left many guests feeling uneasy.

The TikToker explained that these checks are separate from housekeeping services and can feel intrusive.

How are room checks conducted?

Typically, a Disney staff member will knock on the door before entering.

Guests are expected to open the door and allow staff to inspect the room.

Sometimes, staff may also take out the trash or deliver towels during their visit.

However, many guests have expressed discomfort with this practice, especially in certain situations.

For example, a room check can be awkward if a guest is napping, undressed, or in the middle of an activity.

Even if guests ignore the knock or have a “Do Not Disturb” sign, staff will still come in.

This has raised concerns about privacy and respect for guests’ personal space.

A TikToker called The Mouselets informed viewers on June 11 about Disney’s ‘room checks’ for on-site guests.

They explain: “Every day in every room, Disney does a room check.

“This isn’t related to housekeeping or anything, it is separate.”

The TikToker added: “Room checks are usually no big deal – a staff member will knock on your door, you open the door, they take a lap inside your room (sometimes also emptying your trash or delivering towels, but not always), and then they leave.

But there are some situations where a room check feels unwelcome or invasive.

“These might include times when you or a child is napping when a minor is left alone in the room, when you’re undressed, or when you’re engaging in adult activities.

Even if you have a ‘Do not disturb’ sign on your door and even if you ignore the room check knock, they will come in.”

Some guests have shared their thoughts about these room checks.

One TikToker mentioned feeling uncomfortable when staff entered her room while she was on a video call.

“This is something that should be done while housekeeping is in the room, a separate check is intrusive.”

Another guest reported that they were taking a shower when staff knocked and entered.

Such experiences highlight the potential for awkward moments during these checks.

Parents with young children also worry about the timing of room checks.

If a child is napping, a sudden entry by staff could disrupt their sleep.

The TikToker suggested that parents request earlier or later checks at the front desk to avoid these situations.

The reactions to the room check policy of Disney Park are mixed.

While some guests understand the need for safety, others feel that the practice is inappropriate.

This is something that should be done while housekeeping is in the room, a separate check is intrusive, one user said.

Thanks for this, will never be staying in a disney hotel, the second user wrote.

if staff came into my room when i specifically put do not disturb on the door to go through my belongings im suing, the third user commented.

Sorry but do not disturb sign is meant to keep you from being in a compromising situation perhaps.

Complete invasion of privacy if they come in anyways when sign is up, another user said.

Safety?! For what?’ I have never been in a hotel that did this?’ I am so confused, someone said.
