Previously, Drake and Williams were first romantically linked in 2011. In 2015, they were spotted together multiple times, including at a Cincinnati restaurant.

By 2016, they had gone their separate ways. That year, Drake released *Too Good*, with lyrics hinting at a lost love.

Williams later married Alexis Ohanian in 2017. In 2022, Drake appeared to reference Ohanian in *Middle of the Ocean*, calling him a “groupie.”

Ohanian responded on X, writing, “The reason I stay winning is because I’m relentless about being the best—especially the best groupie for my wife and daughter.”

During the Super Bowl halftime show, Lamar performed “Not Like Us”, which had won five Grammys earlier in the month. The song references Williams in the line, “From Alondra down to Central, n**** better not speak on Serena.”

Drake allegedly tried to stop Lamar from performing the track. Reports claim he even banned close friends from watching the show.

Despite his failure to block “Not Like Us” from the setlist, sources say Drake was happy that viewers were unimpressed by Lamar’s performance.

An insider told *Daily Mail*, “Drake didn’t tune in and put his friends on a Super Bowl ban. He wasn’t happy about the performance but feels relieved that fans didn’t love it.”

The source added, “He knows Lamar’s audience has exiled him, but he thinks he has a chance at a comeback.”
