A father claims to have ordered the UK’s biggest bacon sandwich.

He visited his local Greggs and requested an enormous 51-rasher bacon butty. The result was a massive 2,500-calorie meal that left him struggling to finish.

Craig Harker, a 35-year-old pub owner from Stockton-on-Tees, had a craving for a bacon sandwich. He visited the Hardwick branch of Greggs and asked for the biggest bacon roll they could make.

The staff member, amused by his request, kept adding rashers as Craig insisted on more.

When the count reached 50, the worker suggested stopping. They even had to serve the sandwich in a doughnut box due to its massive size.

The total price for the sandwich was $22. It contained around 2,500 calories, nearly the daily recommended intake for an average man.

Despite his excitement, Craig quickly realized he had taken on too much. He struggled to finish even half of the gigantic sandwich.

“It absolutely destroyed me,” he admitted.

Sharing the monster sandwich with family

Unable to finish it alone, Craig took the sandwich home. His partner Rochelle Fairley, their three kids, and even the dogs helped eat the leftovers.

“I love bacon sarnies, but after that, I didn’t eat one for a few days,” he joked.

Craig shared the entire experience on his TikTok account, ‘Dad Loves Food’. The video shows him urging the Greggs worker to keep adding bacon.

“I think it’s the UK’s biggest bacon bun,” Craig says in the clip. “I knew we were hitting some kind of record.”

Viewers were amazed at the sheer size of the sandwich. Many joked about his ambitious order, while others admitted the video made them hungry.

One person said: Orders. Yeah woo. I’m going to order 52 tomorrow can I get a article on it. But I would eat mine. 

A second wrote: That bacon looks like it was cooked on the radiator…

While a third commented: Tbf a bacon bap or sarnie usually contains 1 to 3 rashers if you’re lucky. Need atleast 4 minimum to be decent and cooked more than a percy pig colour.

“The box was meant to fit six doughnuts,” Craig said. “Instead, it fit one massive bacon sandwich.”
