Young mum shares pre-labour beauty routine
An Australian mum sparked debate after sharing her pre-labour makeover. She applied fake tan, got a manicure and pedicure, and styled her hair just hours before her induction.
On TikTok, she shared her preparation for labor with a beauty session, leaving viewers stunned.

She documented the experience on TikTok. The footage showed herself getting a blow-dry, applying self-tanner, and moisturizing her face.
“Hair is washed now, I’m just moisturizing quickly,” she said. “Then I’ll fake tan. If someone asks why I’m fake tanning for labour—do I want to look ugly while pushing out a child? No.”
Mixed reactions from social media followers
The video quickly went viral and sparked debate among viewers.
On social media, Indy’s beauty routine divided her followers.
In the comment selection, some supported her, saying feeling good during labour was important. Others criticized her, arguing it promoted unrealistic beauty standards.

A second wrote: If it makes her feel good then great and why not … when baby comes she will have limited time to do any self care !
While a third commented: Believe me after 23 hours on a table the last thing you care about is your hair or your tan! What a generation we have produced !
Another added: Well I’m 67 and I did did my hair and makeup before I went to the hospital. Nothing wrong with feeling good about how you look.

Final touches before heading to the hospital
Before leaving for the hospital, Indy made a quick stop at Woolworths for snacks. She also plucked her husband’s eyebrows, insisting he couldn’t have a “unibrow” while she was in labour.
At the hospital, she continued her beauty routine, reapplying makeup between contractions.
Welcoming baby Bambi
Indy gave birth the next day. She announced the arrival of her daughter on Instagram with a heartfelt post. “Our daughter is here,” she wrote, sharing a photo of herself cradling the newborn.
Her pre-labour makeover may have stirred controversy, but Indy remained confident in her choices. For her, looking good was simply part of feeling good on one of the most important days of her life.
