A couple was stunned to discover their BMW damaged by a Manchester Airport parking firm after returning from vacation.
Couple discovers their luxury bmw smashed after using airport parking service
Most travelers expect their vehicles to be safe when using airport parking.
However, this couple was in for a terrible surprise. When they called the parking firm to retrieve their car, they discovered it had been crashed.
Well, this was an unexpected shock after they landed at Manchester Airport
A couple returned from vacation to find their brand-new BMW severely damaged.
They had left their $198.78 BMW XM with a ‘meet and greet’ parking service at Manchester Airport before traveling to the Czech Republic.
The company failed to provide details about where the crash happened or where the car was. Even worse, they did not apologize.
Family speaks out about the distressing experience
After the incident, the couple’s daughter spoke to the Manchester Evening News about the ordeal. She explained that her parents waited nearly an hour for their car.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, she said: “When they landed, they called to say they were ready for their car. But 45 minutes later there was no car and they called again. They said another car had gone into their car and to get a taxi home.”
She added: “They wouldn’t give the location. They called the police and the police told them the location.”
Frustrated, the couple contacted the police. Officers then informed them that their car was found abandoned on Castle Mill Lane in the village of Ashley, near the airport.
Emotional impact and lack of accountability from the parking firm
The couple was devastated after the incident. Their daughter added: “They were really upset. They really loved that car. When their grandchildren went into it, they had to take their shoes off. The company just didn’t care and they didn’t even say sorry or that they would drive them home. They only found out where it was from the police.”
Additionally, Cheshire Police confirmed that Greater Manchester Police contacted them about a BMW crashing into a hedge on Mill Lane at 1:53 p.m. on February 22.
A spokesperson said: “There were no reports of injuries, and the vehicle was recovered from the scene.”
Greater Manchester Police added that no arrests were made, and the driver tested negative in a breathalyzer test.
It remains unclear whether the couple intends to take legal action against the parking firm. However, as of now, no charges have been filed.
Meanwhile, travelers using airport parking services should be cautious when entrusting their vehicles to third-party firms.
