Chloe Fineman publicly calls out Elon Musk, revealing that his actions as a “Saturday Night Live” host in May 2021 left her so upset she burst into tears.
Chloe Fineman opens up about Elon Musk’s behavior on SNL
Comedian Chloe Fineman has spoken out about her negative experience with Elon Musk during his time hosting “Saturday Night Live” in May 2021.
She claims the Tesla CEO made her cry after rejecting a sketch she had written.
Fineman, 36, responded to Musk’s recent criticism of SNL, where he called the show a “dying” art form. In a now-deleted TikTok video, she fired back at the billionaire, pointing out that he was still watching the show despite his harsh words.
“I just saw some news article about Elon Musk being butt hurt about ‘SNL’ and his impression,” Fineman said.
“But I’m like, ‘You’re clearly watching the show. Like, what are you talking about?” She added.

Fineman then revealed that Musk was the anonymous celebrity host her co-star Bowen Yang had mentioned. Yang previously said this host made multiple cast members cry due to his dislike of their ideas.
“And I’m like, you know what? I’m gonna come out and say at long last that I’m the cast member that he made cry. And he’s the host that made someone cry. Maybe there’s others,” she stated.
She further explained how the incident unfolded, recalling that she had worked tirelessly on a sketch that Musk completely dismissed.
“I stayed up all night writing the sketch. I was so excited to show it to him,” she said. “But when I did, he just stared at me.”

Musk’s harsh reaction to Fineman’s sketch
Fineman detailed how Musk gave her a cold, dismissive response when she presented her work.
“I asked if you had any questions, and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla,” she said. “Then you said, ‘It’s not funny.’”
She initially thought he was joking, but Musk continued to criticize her work.
“You started flipping through my script, looking at each page, and said, ‘I didn’t laugh once, not one time,’” she recalled.
Despite the harsh feedback, her sketch ultimately made it into the show. Fineman even admitted that Musk’s performance in it was “funny.”
Although she acknowledged Musk’s humor in the final performance, Fineman urged him to be more respectful.
“You know, have a little manners here, sir,” she said.
Her remarks come shortly after Musk criticized comedian Dana Carvey following Carvey’s impression of him on a recent SNL episode.
Musk fires back at SNL
During the recent SNL opening skit, cast members poked fun at the 2024 presidential election results.
Carvey, who had previously impersonated President Joe Biden, made a surprise appearance as Musk.
Musk, who had supported Donald Trump, did not take the joke lightly. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam the show.
“SNL has been dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality,” Musk wrote.
He also accused the show of violating equal airtime rules by attempting to boost Kamala Harris’s campaign.
“Their last-ditch effort to cheat the equal airtime requirements and prop up Kamala before the election only helped sink her campaign further,” Musk added.
Ongoing tension between Musk and SNL
Musk’s relationship with SNL has remained rocky since his controversial hosting gig in 2021. His recent criticism has only reignited tensions with cast members like Fineman.
While some praised Musk’s original SNL performance, others within the cast have continued to express their frustrations with his attitude behind the scenes.
Fineman’s latest comments suggest that the billionaire’s time on the show was far from smooth.
As the drama continues, fans of both Fineman and Musk remain divided on the issue.
