The comedian and talk show host moved to Dublin, Ireland, in January 2024. She made the announcement in a TikTok video on March 11.

The 62-year-old was born in New York but has deep Irish roots.

Her father immigrated from County Donegal as a child, while her mother was Irish American. Now, O’Donnell is embracing her heritage and settling into her new home.

O’Donnell moved to Ireland on January 15 with her 12-year-old daughter.

She described the country as ‘beautiful’ and its people as ‘warm.’ However, she admitted that the weather is ‘quite cold.’

Despite the chilly temperatures, she is happy with her decision. She even confirmed that she is working on obtaining Irish citizenship.

“It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically,” she shared.

She also expressed hope that one day, when all citizens in America have equal rights, she might consider returning.
