Kanye West has allegedly threatened to go “to war” with ex-wife Kim Kardashian over their daughter North West’s name.
This dispute arises after Kardashian reportedly attempted to prevent their 11-year-old daughter from being associated with embattled rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Kanye West teases new song featuring North West
On March 15, Kanye West, 47, took to Twitter to preview his latest song, “LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE.”
The track appears to feature not only Combs and his 26-year-old son Christian “King” Combs but also North West.
In the song’s intro, West is heard speaking to a voice resembling Diddy’s, saying how he “loves” him. The track also includes a message from a voice sounding like Diddy via phone call:
“I wanna just thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man. Ain’t nobody reach out to them, ain’t nobody call them.”
West responds: “Absolutely, I love you so much, man. You raised me. Even when I ain’t know you, know what I’m saying?”
Kim Kardashian’s attempt to protect North
Combs, currently in custody, is awaiting trial on May 5 after being indicted on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
Despite his continued denial of these allegations, the association has caused concern for Kardashian.
According to TMZ, Kardashian, 44, took legal steps to prevent North’s inclusion in the song.
A source told DailyMail.com that Kardashian, who is studying law, is determined to protect her children from West’s public controversies.
West’s controversial actions and response
West has been involved in multiple controversies, including antisemitic remarks and the sale of swastika-emblazoned clothing on his Yeezy website. He also spent millions on a Super Bowl commercial following his remarks.
On Twitter, West reportedly posted a screenshot of private messages between him and Kardashian, captioning it:
“This first screen grab shows that I’m not playing.”
In one of the alleged messages, West tells Kardashian: “I’m never speaking with you again.”
The legal dispute over North’s name
Kardashian responded by reminding West that he had previously agreed to let her trademark their children’s names. She wrote:
“I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18 it goes to her. So stop. I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song. To protect her.
“One person has to trademark!
“We agreed when they were born I would get all of our kids’ names and trademarks so no one else would take them.”
West fired back:
“Amend it or I’m going to war. And neither of us will recover from the public fallout.”
He then added:
“You’re going to have to kill me.”
This latest clash between West and Kardashian adds to their ongoing public disputes.
Whether Kardashian will successfully prevent North from being included in the track remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, West continues to push boundaries with his music and public statements.
