In response, the hotel posted on X, clarifying that the only unoccupied tables Williams saw were part of their fully booked gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc. Additionally, they emphasized that there were no available tables in the rooftop restaurant.
Maxime Mannevy, a staff member at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, reported that a colleague did not recognize Williams at the time.
According to Mannevy, there were only two tables available, both reserved by hotel clients.The colleague reportedly told Williams to wait downstairs in the bar for a table to become available. He emphasized that it was not personal.
She told Variety: ‘When she came there were only two tables available and they had been reserved by clients of the hotel.
‘My colleague didn’t recognise her and feels terrible, but he told her what he would have told any other client, which is to wait downstairs in the bar for a table to become available. That was absolutely nothing personal.’
Then, the restaurant issued an apology on X. They clarified that the rooftop bar was fully booked, so the unoccupied tables were reserved.
Additionally, they emphasized their respect and honor in welcoming Williams.
While, they write on X: “Dear Mrs. Williams, Please accept our deepest apologies for the disappointment you encountered tonight. Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked and the only unoccupied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved.”
