A family files wrongful death lawsuit against Trump International Hotel
A 78-year-old woman died after being “violently ejected” from a revolving door at Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.
Her family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit, claiming hotel negligence led to her fatal injuries.
The lawsuit, filed on March 18, 2024, in Clark County District Court.
It states that Diana Truschke suffered severe injuries due to a malfunctioning revolving door.
Reports from Fox 5 Vegas, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and NBC News indicate that hotel staff allegedly knew about the door’s issues but failed to address them.
“As a result, Ms Truschke was violently ejected from the revolving door, causing her to be thrown several feet, ultimately falling to the sidewalk on her face,” the court filing said.
Incident details: Door ejected victim onto sidewalk
Truschke was visiting Trump International in March 2023 when the door suddenly sped up and struck her from behind.
The force allegedly threw her several feet, causing her to land face-first on the sidewalk. The complaint states she received extensive medical treatment for her injuries at a nearby hospital.
According to the lawsuit, Truschke’s health worsened in the months following the incident.
She passed away on October 14, 2023, due to complications from her injuries.
The family argues that the hotel’s failure to maintain the revolving door directly led to her death.

The lawsuit claims the hotel did not comply with safety regulations and ignored known issues with the revolving door.
