Celebrities harshly criticize the all-female Blue Origin launch, arguing there are more pressing issues in the world right now.

Recently, an all-female space mission by Blue Origin has sparked controversy.

Some celebrities have publicly criticized the launch, stating that there are more pressing issues in the world.

This criticism has brought attention to the wealth and resources spent on such ventures.

Blue Origin launched an all-female crew successfully

Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin sent an all-female crew to space. This mission marked the first time an all-women team has traveled to space since Valentina Tereshkova in 1963.

The crew included notable figures such as Katy Perry and Gayle King. The flight lasted a total of eleven minutes, with only four minutes spent in space.

The cost of this space trip is staggering.

Reports estimate that each seat on the Blue Origin flight costs between $64 million to $88 million.

With six women on board, the total cost ranges from $384 million to $528 million.

Many people find this expenditure excessive, especially given the current economic challenges faced by many.

She described the mission as “gluttonous,” emphasizing that space exploration should aim to help humanity.

She continued: “I know this probably isn’t the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now.

I know this is probably obnoxious, but like, it’s so much money to go to space, and there’s a lot of people who can’t even afford eggs.

“What’s the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride? I think it’s a bit gluttonous.”

“What are they gonna do up there that has made it better for us down here?”

Comedian Amy Schumer also chimed in on the conversation.

She took to Instagram to poke fun at the mission, jokingly claiming she was added to the flight at the last minute.

“Guys, last second, they added me to space and I’m going to space. I’m bringing this thing, it has no meaning to me but it was in my bag and I was like on the subway and I got the text.

“[…] Thank you to everyone who got me here and I’ll see you guys in space.”

“How high were the people who came up with the name for space. They were like, ‘What should we call it? There’s so much space’ And they were like, ‘That’s it.’
