President Donald Trump’s Oval Office was thrown into chaos after a young family member of Dr. Mehmet Oz collapsed.
This occurred following a ceremony in which Oz was sworn in as the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The ceremony was led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
According to reports, Oz is a well-known television personality who ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania in 2022.
He received Trump’s endorsement during that race and maintained close ties with the former president

Trump holds brief exchange with reporters before incident
After the ceremony, Trump engaged in a brief back-and-forth with reporters, discussing a range of topics. However, the conversation was abruptly cut short when the young girl fainted. Dr. Oz, a trained physician, rushed to assist her, leading White House aides to urgently call for the press to leave the room.
“Thank you, press, get out right now,” one aide was heard shouting, while another insisted, “No photos!”
White House provides update on family member’s health
Following the commotion, the White House quickly issued an update confirming that the young family member had recovered. A spokesperson stated, “A minor family member fainted during Dr. Oz’s swearing-in ceremony in the Oval Office. We are happy to say she is OK.”
Despite the interruption, Trump continued with a series of questions from reporters.
One of the questions focused on Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen’s meeting with Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Garcia had been mistakenly deported to El Salvador under the Trump administration.
The reporter asked, “Do you encourage other Democrats to fly to El Salvador to meet with this illegal alien who’s an accused wife-beater?”
Trump responded, praising the reporter’s directness. “I like this guy, see now this is the kind of reporter we like, there aren’t enough of them,” Trump said, before criticizing Van Hollen, calling him a “fake” and accusing him of having no real interest in Garcia’s case.

The conversation shifted as Trump discussed various global issues, including Russia-Ukraine talks and Iran’s nuclear program.
Trump remained firm in his stance. He said that he would only support peace efforts if both sides were serious about negotiations.
“My whole life has been one big negotiation, and I know when people are playing us,” Trump stated.
He also expressed his optimism that both Russia and Ukraine might be open to peace.
When pressed on whether Russia was trying to manipulate him, Trump bristled, responding, “No, nobody’s playing me, I’m trying to help. This is Biden’s war.”
As the conversation shifted to Iran, Trump emphasized the importance of preventing the country from obtaining a nuclear weapon. “If they have a nuclear weapon, you’ll all be very unhappy,” he warned, adding that the global community would be at great risk.
