Trump claims the deported man is a criminal despite official error
President Donald Trump recently shared what he called ‘proof’ that Kilmar Armando Ábrego García.
He was reported a man accidentally deported to El Salvador, is a member of the notorious MS-13 gang.
Garcia, originally from Maryland, was one of more than 250 individuals mistakenly sent to El Salvador’s Center for Terrorism Confinement (CECOT) last month due to a clerical error made by the U.S. government.
Trump, however, has dismissed the idea that this was an administrative mistake. Instead, he insists Garcia is a dangerous gang member.
Trump posts picture allegedly showing MS-13 tattoo
Taking to Truth Social, Trump posted a photo of himself holding what he claims is a picture of Garcia’s hand.
He wrote: ‘This is the hand of the man that the Democrats feel should be brought back to the United States, because he is such ‘a fine and innocent person’.
Additionally, Trump alleges that Garcia has MS-13 tattoos on his knuckles, referring to them as “proof” of Garcia’s criminal affiliations.
He also mentions that two courts had found Garcia guilty of violence, including an accusation of beating his wife.

Despite Trump’s claims, the photo shared by the president has sparked widespread skepticism.
Social media users quickly pointed out what they believe to be signs of photo manipulation.
The tattoo—labeled MS-13—appears unnaturally sharp and clear, contrasting with other symbols on Garcia’s hand, which are faded.
Online critics wasted no time pointing out what they believed to be flaws in Trump’s image.
One Twitter user stated: MS13 was photoshopped on his hand. Ladies and gentlemen… the President of the United States: a felon using false ‘evidence.’.
Another user added: The MS13 on his hand isn’t even a tattoo. That’s old school Photoshop.
A third person criticized Trump’s actions, saying, “Trump photoshopped MS13 on his hand wtf is going on!? It’s like Wag the Dog but without the secrecy!”
Someone said: I’m surprised that it wasn’t written on his hand in black Sharpie.
Another added: This is worse than the sharpie on the hurricane map.
While a third commented: Surely if this is true the Senator that has been to see him would have seen it. And wouldn’t be asking to be returned x.

El Salvador’s president shares contradictory photo of Garcia
To further complicate matters, Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, shared a separate photograph of Garcia’s hand.
In this image, no MS-13 tattoo is visible, raising further doubts about the authenticity of Trump’s photo.
Bukele humorously remarked: “Kilmar Ábrego García, miraculously risen from the ‘death camps’ & ‘torture,’ now sipping margaritas with Sen.
Van Hollen in the tropical paradise of El Salvador!”
Even some public figures weighed in on the controversy.
Former Minnesota state senator Linda Higgins tweeted: “Hey Old Man, @realDonaldTrump, have someone teach you about Photoshop. This is an excellent example of altering a photo, in this case to make your illegal actions look good. But instead you look foolish.”
