Joe Biden delivered a straightforward message to Donald Trump, addressing his reported ambitions to take control of Canada and Greenland.
Joe Biden has spoken up about Donald Trump’s recent actions.
Trump, now in his second term as U.S. president, has made several surprising decisions.
One of those includes his bold talk about Canada and Greenland.
In a recent interview, Biden gave his reaction. His message was clear and direct. He asked, “What the hell’s going on here?”
Trump has signed many executive orders in office
Since returning to the White House, Trump has been very active.
He has signed more than 140 executive orders. Many of these have caused confusion or concern.

One of the most unusual orders was about names. Trump signed a paper to rename the Gulf of Mexico. He wants it to be called the “Gulf of America.”
This decision is just one of many that have caught people’s attention.
Trump has also talked about adding more land to the U.S.
Trump suggested that Canada should become the 51st state and expressed a desire to turn Greenland into a U.S. territory.
Jokingly, he claimed the only way for Canada to avoid tariffs was by joining the U.S., and insisted Greenland would be acquired “one way or the other.”
These comments were not taken lightly by other leaders.

Former President Joe Biden makes candid statement on Trump’s plans to take over Canada and Greenland
Biden did not hold back. He said Trump’s ideas go against what the U.S. stands for.
He explained that America is built on freedom and democracy. It is not a country that should “confiscate” land from others.
Biden also questioned Trump’s way of thinking. He said that no other president has ever talked like this.

Biden reflected: “And the way we talk about now that, ‘It’s the Gulf of America’, ‘Maybe we’re going to have to take back Panama’, ‘Maybe we need to acquire Greenland, ‘Maybe Canada should be a [51st state].’ – What the hell’s going on here?”
He continued: “What President ever talks like that? That’s not who we are. We’re about freedom, democracy, opportunity – not about confiscation.”
Mexico and Canada’s leaders also respond
Biden is not the only one who spoke up. The President of Mexico also shared her thoughts.
Claudia Sheinbaum joked that maybe the U.S. should be renamed “Mexican America.”
In Canada, former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave a clear answer. He said that Canada would never become a U.S. state. He added that it was not going to happen.

New Canadian leader makes strong statement
Mark Carney is Canada’s new leader. He recently met Trump at the White House.
Although the meeting seemed friendly, Carney made his view very clear.
He said that “Canada is not for sale.” He even added that he spoke to many Canadians during the election.
According to him, none of them supported Trump’s idea.
“As you know from real estate, there are some places that are never for sale.
“Having met with the owners of Canada over the course of the campaign in the last several months, it’s not for sale. Won’t be for sale, ever.”
