‘Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I hate Taylor Swift,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?” Trump wrote on Friday.

The former president’s message appeared unprompted. It stirred confusion online about why he revisited his long-running dispute with the singer.

At 78 years old, Trump has often taken aim at Swift since she began endorsing his Democratic rivals in recent election cycles.

Taylor Swift backed Trump’s opponents in 2020 and 2024

In 2020, Swift endorsed Joe Biden, criticizing Trump for stoking division. In 2024, she backed Kamala Harris after the first debate.

‘I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,’ Swift wrote. ‘I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.’

She described Harris as a steady and capable leader, contrasting her with the chaos she associates with Trump’s leadership style.

Swift jokingly signed that endorsement “childless cat lady,” a jab at Vice President JD Vance’s controversial comment about single women with cats.

Trump replied to Swift’s 2024 endorsement: “I hate Taylor Swift.”

After Swift’s 2024 endorsement post, Trump replied, “I hate Taylor Swift,” on his Truth Social platform, triggering political and celebrity reactions.

Trump ally Karoline Leavitt criticized Swift.

Karoline called her an out-of-touch elite disconnected from ordinary American struggles and working-class realities.

‘It’s further evidence that the Democrat Party, unfortunately, is the party of the wealthy elite,’ Leavitt said of Swift’s endorsement.

‘Taylor Swift may make great music, but she does not understand the struggles of everyday, hardworking families, and President Trump is speaking on behalf of those hardworking, struggling families who don’t get the privilege, like Taylor Swift, of living in a gated community.’

Additionally, Leavitt labeled Swift as part of the Democrat Party’s “wealthy elite,” despite Swift’s long record of public activism on major issues.

Swift is the world’s richest female musician with a net worth of $1.6 billion, according to *Forbes* estimates in 2024.

Still, Swift has used her platform for progressive causes, including LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive freedom, and opposition to white supremacy and racism.

Swift has accused Trump of promoting division and racism.

In 2020, following George Floyd’s killing, Swift directly condemned Trump’s response to racial unrest and police brutality across the United States.

‘After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November,’ Swift wrote in May 2020.
