Young woman slammed after claiming she’s “too pretty” to bother with a job
Recently, a young social media influencer named Lucy Welcher found herself at the center of a viral backlash after making a controversial statement on TikTok.
In a now-deleted video, she claimed that she is “too pretty” to work for the rest of her life.
This assertion sparked outrage among viewers, many of whom deemed her comments shallow and entitled.
In her video, which lasted only nine seconds, Lucy expressed her reluctance to engage in a traditional job.
She stated, “I do not want to work for the rest of my life. Does it look like I want to get up at 6 a.m. every day for the next 60 years?
No! I’m too pretty for that!” She claimed.
Social media users sent her numerous heated comments for her claims
The clip quickly gained traction, leading to a flood of negative reactions from the online community.
Many commenters questioned her implied message that employment is only for those who are less attractive.
Some people felt her remarks were not only dismissive but also perpetuated harmful stereotypes about beauty and work.

The young woman responded to the backlash
In response to the backlash, Lucy released a follow-up video where she sarcastically addressed some of the comments made about her.
She denied owning any luxury vehicles or a mansion, stating, “My house is literally falling apart.”
Despite the criticism, she seemed to enjoy the attention.
She even made a new video, repeating her earlier message that she’s too pretty to work every day.
Interestingly, the remake had a mixed reception.
Some followers continued to find her comments funny and understood the initial video as a joke, while others stayed critical.
Supportive comments included phrases like, “You’re right, working early can ruin your looks,” and “This video made my day.”
However, the first video caused a big split in how people see beauty and work.
