A homeowner wrapped his neighbor’s car in cellophane after she repeatedly blocked his driveway, creating a humorous yet serious dispute.

A homeowner in Margate, Kent, took an unusual step to deal with a parking problem.

Tobe Bailey, a 49-year-old dad, found himself frustrated when a neighbor’s car blocked his driveway for a day and a half.

After trying to resolve the issue politely, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

The homeowner got furious after neighbors parked cars at his driveway

Tobe lives in a street with many houses and limited parking.

He and his wife spent around $2,622 to install a dropped curb, making it easier for their family to park.

Despite having clear signs that say not to park there, people often ignore them.

“At least two or three times a week, we get some idiot blocking us in.

“I came home from work one night and saw the car parked there. My daughter couldn’t get her car out,” Tobe said.

This situation left Tobe feeling annoyed, especially when it blocked his daughter’s car and made it impossible for her to get out.

After placing a note on the neighbor’s car asking them to move it, Tobe was disappointed when no one responded. He decided to act humorously.

He had just received a delivery of pallet wrap, commonly known as cellophane, and used it to wrap the entire car.

The dad said: “I’d just had a load of pallet wrap delivered and I thought” ‘right’ and wrapped it across the car.

This prank got the attention of the car’s owner very quickly.

The car belonged to a young woman who had recently moved in next door.

When she came out to see her car wrapped in plastic, she was surprised and a bit embarrassed.

Tobe reported that she was very apologetic and found the situation funny. She promised not to park there again in the future.

Tobe’s family, including his wife Amanda and their seven children, thought the prank was hilarious.

Tobe has a history of dealing with poor parking from neighbors.

He shared a previous experience when a man parked across his driveway and refused to move.

When Tobe confronted him, the man claimed he could park wherever he wanted.

In response, Tobe used a car jack to lift the man’s car off the ground. When the man returned, he found he could not drive away.

He eventually had to knock on Tobe’s door to apologize.

He said: “Another time, a man parked a car across my driveway and when I told him he couldn’t park there, he told me he was a child of God and could park where he likes.

“I told him I am also a child of God and had the right not to have my driveway blocked.

“He didn’t listen and just walked away. So I used a car jack to hoist it up.

“When he came back, he got in the car and started it but of course, couldn’t drive anywhere.

“He had to knock on my door and eventually apologized. He never parked there again.”

The homeowner’s actions have sparked mixed reactions.

Some people believe he went too far, while others think he clearly handled the situation.

Many of his friends on social media found the story entertaining.

When will people understand, taking the law into your own hand is not the answer. Hope he has damaged the paint work and has to pay the bill, the second user commented.

Shame he missed stage two. Put lots of bread on top for the pigeons, the third user said.

I would have painted the whole car with enamel paint ! In the middle of the night! Another user wrote.

I always park in front of driveways if there’s room, I’m not a monster and don’t if there’s a car on it.

I’d be seeing him the county court for interfering with the motor though, someone said.
