Kathryn Bateman, documented her harrowing situation as Hurricane Milton approaches.
While, the storm is expected to make landfall soon, bringing 155 mph winds.
Bateman explained her efforts to stock up on essentials at supermarkets. She filmed her attempts to prepare for the hurricane, warning others of the impending danger.

Then, Bateman shared a clip showing empty store shelves.
While, she and her partner visited a store 10 minutes before it opened but found no water available. She compared the scene to the early days of the Covid pandemic.
In a video posted on October 8, Bateman finally found water at Target. She remarked “The shelves were a little bit empty… a lot of people are stocking up on water.”
Describing her visit to Home Depot, Bateman noted the chaotic atmosphere.
“It was absolutely manic,” she stated.
Additionally, Many shoppers were buying wood to board up windows for protection. There were only a few flashlights left, and Bateman managed to purchase one.
While, other travelers informed her that their hotels provided free water and toilet paper.
However, her hotel did not offer any assistance.
Bateman summarized a letter from the hotel
“The hotel basically said keep the patio furniture inside, you’re self-catering, you’re on your own.”

“This is the real deal here with Milton,” she stated.
Castor warned residents that if they do not evacuate,
“You are going to die.”
The National Weather Service in Tampa reported that this storm will be the worst to hit the area in over a century.
Additionally, The UK Foreign Office has alerted citizens to heed evacuation orders. While, Milton is deemed ‘life-threatening,’ with forecasts of severe winds and heavy rainfall.
