The 49-year-old comedian attempts to link the storm to his newfound Christian faith.
He reflects on how the “storm affects us all,” urging people to pray for those directly impacted in places like Tampa and Sarasota.
Brand draws on the biblical story of Peter walking on water. He mentions that Peter only steps out of the boat when he is sure it is Jesus. Brand emphasizes the need to “keep your eyes fixed on the Lord” to avoid being “devoured by the storm.”

Since December 2023, Brand has been sharing posts about his deepening relationship with Christianity. Last month, he was seen performing a baptism in his underwear. He captioned it, “The Apostles did it on day one, so here we are.”
