Paul and his guide dog, Mr. Maple, faced rejection at a Seattle restaurant after the staff doubted about his blindness.

A recent incident at a Seattle restaurant has sparked outrage as a blind man and his service dog were unjustly kicked out after being told, "You don't look blind."

The staff member informed Paul that only service dogs were allowed and questioned whether Mr. Maple was an emotional support dog.

Paul, visibly upset, explained that Mr. Maple was indeed a service dog and even showed the guide dog harness as proof.

Unfortunately, the staff member did not accept the validity of the situation. Instead, they continued to question Paul's blindness, saying, "You don't appear blind."

"I'm speechless," he said.

Paul calmly explained that many individuals in the blind community have some functional vision.

However, the restaurant worker continued questioning why Paul was looking directly at him if he was blind. Paul clarified that he had a pinhole of vision, allowing him to focus his gaze.

The restaurant's staff threatened to call the police

The encounter escalated when the staff member threatened to call the police if Paul returned to the restaurant, despite Paul offering to provide Mr. Maple's paperwork as evidence.

The incident left Paul speechless, and his TikTok video documenting the ordeal has since gone viral, amassing millions of views.

Although Paul chose not to disclose the name of the restaurant, he later met with the establishment's manager to discuss the incident.

Paul expressed that he did not intend to press charges or have the employee fired, seeking only a sincere apology.

Fortunately, the manager extended an apology to Paul and even provided him with a gift card as a gesture of goodwill.

The incident has prompted widespread support for Paul, with many applauding his grace and composure in handling the situation.

We were kicked out of a bar one night with my blind friend. He had his hand on my shoulder going up the stairs and they thought he was "too drunk to do it himself" they would not believe that he's visually impaired, one user said.

He has a TikTok. I love watching his antics with his husband. He’s definitely blind and his dog is definitely a service dog, the second user confirmed.

There are so many different types of vision impairment. People shouldn't be to quick to judge, the third user commented.

This is exactly why people having their pets registered as an ESA is wrong. Now if your disability isn't apparent people assume you're one of the ones abusing the system just so they can take their pets inside with them, another explained.

You should’ve let him call the police and then have the restaurant cited for refusing you entry, someone wrote.
