Amidst Pitt and Jolie's divorce battle, their shared daughter Shiloh request to drop Pitt's surname on her 18th birthday.

Brad Pitt's daughter, Shiloh, has made a significant decision on her 18th birthday amidst her parents' ongoing divorce battle.

She has officially requested to drop her father's surname, "Pitt," and change her legal name to Shiloh Jolie.

This development comes after it was revealed that Brad Pitt himself is eager to mend his relationship with his 18-year-old daughter.

Shiloh's request to change her surname was filed on her birthday, which took place on May 27.

While her siblings, Vivienne, Zahara, and Maddox, who are also children of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, reportedly do not use "Pitt" as their surname, they have not made legal filings to change their names.

The approval of Shiloh's name change request is pending, as she submitted the documents on Memorial Day, just a few days ago.

The court will review and decide on the matter in due course.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a mixed family with their own children, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne, as well as adopted children Maddox, Pax, and Zahara.

They started dating after Brad Pitt divorced Jennifer Aniston in 2005, and they got married in 2014. However, their marriage ended in divorce in 2016, and in 2019, they were legally declared single.

Despite the legal separation, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still involved in a controversial divorce battle.

The actor has faced challenges in maintaining a strong bond with his children, and a former bodyguard even accused Jolie of attempting to undermine their relationship.

However, with Shiloh turning 18, Brad Pitt sees an opportunity to rebuild their connection.

Now that Shiloh is legally an adult, she can make her own decisions regarding her relationship with her father.

Brad Pitt is confident that he can strengthen their bond, as he believes she has the freedom to choose how they interact and spend time together.

Previously, Angelina Jolie had limited the children's involvement with their father, but this no longer applies to Shiloh.

She now has the agency to decide the extent of her contact with her dad. Despite any decisions she makes, Brad Pitt will continue to love her unconditionally.

Both Brad Pitt and those close to him are optimistic that they can repair the broken bond caused by the divorce.

They believe that Shiloh's newfound autonomy will enable them to rebuild their relationship over time.

Brad Pitt remains committed to his role as a father and will always be available for his children, should they reach out to him.

Recently, Jolie and Pitt's daughter, Vivienne, has disowned her father-child bond by dropping her dad's last name.

According to reports, Vivienne has changed her last name and no longer uses her father's "Pitt" surname. This indicates a long-standing disconnection and distance between her and her father.

It is unclear whether the name change holds personal significance or has legal implications.

This is not the first time Jolie and Pitt's children have changed their names. Previously, their eldest daughter Zahara introduced herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" in a video shared by Essence magazine last November.
