The first clip from Hulu’s new Animaniacs show features the Warner Brothers and their sister Dot in a Jurassic Park parody featuring Steven Spielberg. The classic 1990s animated show is getting a reboot for the 21st century, and will stream its first season on Hulu in November. The first trailer for Animaniacs, released in September, showed off what the characters will look like in glorious HD, and also gave a look behind-the-scenes at the recording sessions for the episodes, performed by the original cast.
That returning Animaniacs cast includes Rob Paulsen (Yakko Warner, Pinky), Maurice LaMarche (Brain), Jess Harnell (Wakko Warner) and Tress MacNeille (Dot Warner). Also returning to the show is Spielberg, who was one of the creative forces behind the original, and is overseeing things as an Executive Producer once again. The original is much beloved by the generation who watched during it’s original five-season run from 1993 to 1998, with the Pinky & The Brain segment considered one of the finest children’s animated comedy shows in history.
Now, the first full clip from the show debuted as part of the Animaniacs panel at Sunday’s virtual New York Comic-Con. Sticking with tradition, the clip features a movie parody, with Jurassic Park getting the satire treatment. Rather than being astonished at dinosaurs, though, the characters are wowed by the reappearance of Yakko, Wakko and Dot, featuring new high-definition visuals and a widescreen format. Even director Steven Spielberg makes an appearance. Check out the first clip from the Animaniacs reboot in the below:

The clip should be assurance to fans of the original that very little, beyond the quality of the animation, will change with the new version. The classic voices are back, and so is the classic humor. The Jurassic Park parody is pure nostalgia, and the appearance of Spielberg, who was reportedly very involved in the show’s production, should please fans. The original show also introduced a number of other memorable characters, including the Goodfeathers, a bunch of pigeons with Mafia accents, Slappy and Skippy Squirrel, and Buttons and Mindy, but it remains to be seen which will appear in the reboot.
One duo who will appear is Pinky & The Brain, though there was no sign of them in this clip, but Hulu and Warner Brothers are clearly keeping footage of the fan-favorite characters close to their chest. With the show debuting next month, though, they won’t have to wait very long to see what the Hulu reboot of Animaniacs does with the iconic duo. With the original voice cast in place, though, it’s sure to be hilarious.
