The moment a giraffe gives a goodbye kiss to a zoo worker with terminal cancer makes everyone emotional.
Mr. Mario (54 years old) is facing death due to terminal cancer. Throughout his life, he has devoted deep love to caring for and protecting the animals at Blijdorp Diergaarde Rotterdam Zoo in the Netherlands.

His attachment and closeness over a long time made him unwilling to leave his "second family" without saying goodbye. His last wish was to spend the remaining moments of his life in the zoo.
He asked the medical staff to push his stretcher into the zoo so he could say goodbye to his colleagues and see the animals one last time.
Thanks to the efforts of the organization's staff, Mr. Mario was able to enter the zoo as he desired. To everyone's surprise, a giraffe approached where Mario lay.

It leaned down and pressed its nose close to Mario's face as if kissing him goodbye for the last time. This emotional moment made witnesses unable to hold back their tears.

According to Kees Veldboer - founder of the Ambulance Wish Foundation and also the person who pushed the stretcher, Mario smiled brightly when he received the kiss from the giraffe. This was a truly special moment.
Mario and the giraffe demonstrate the bond between humans and animals. Giraffes have proven that they can and will show love to those they love, which can be considered family, even if they are not of the same species.
