Psychologist Liane Powell, 49, came across a sickly, emaciated dog with a broken front leg wandering the Vila market in southern Spain, reports the Mirror.
The poor dog was known to have been abandoned by hunters. She sympathized with the poor dog's plight and took the dog to veterinarian Ellen Sobry on January 20 for treatment.
The poor dog was named Vera after the town where Powell found her, following a health check.
But they noticed that the bitch Vera, about 2-3 years old, was producing milk, which indicated that she had given birth just a few days ago. Sobry and Powell set out to find the puppies.
Sobry (39 years old) shared, "After discovering the injured dog with a broken leg and profuse bleeding, we muzzled him, put him on a leash, and then headed back to the market. Vera guided us for nearly 3.2 kilometers, leading us through fields and mud, until we reached the abandoned car. It knows its exact destination. I couldn't believe my eyes when the mother dog decided to trust us and lead us to the pups."

Two people record the process of rescuing a puppy. In the video, the dog Vera leads Sobry and Powell to an abandoned car with cardboard-covered windows. Vera jumps out of the car door into the passenger seat.
They find 10 puppies huddled side by side in the broken back seat. Vera is recovering at the Clinivet Turre clinic in Sobry. The pair are contacting the Ibizan Hound Rescue organization in Murcia, southern Spain, to find a home for the recovering dogs.

"Vera and her cubs are healthy," Sobry said. Vera's broken leg was also examined and carefully bandaged. Vera is also recovering well and only needs to eat, sleep, and breastfeeding.
