During one of the heats, 23-year-old Lucia Moris, representing South Sudan, appeared to suffer a significant injury midway through the race.

However, midway through the sprint, she seemed to experience discomfort after one particular step. She stumbled and then pulled up, clutching her leg before falling to the ground.

She was approximately 30 meters from the finish line when she collapsed in agony.
