Throughout his prolific career, spanning several decades, Stephen King has written an impressive collection of 65 books, captivating readers with his storytelling prowess.

However, among these works, one book stands apart from the rest, as it will no longer be found on bookstore shelves.

The book in question is titled "Rage," and it holds a unique place in King's early career.

Originally published in 1977 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, it was later revealed that King himself was the true author behind this gripping novel.

While copies of "Rage" were once available for purchase, the author has decided to cease its publication entirely. As a result, only existing copies from before this decision remain in circulation.

Even collections that previously included the book, such as "The Bachman Books," have been updated to exclude it.

Stephen King has made it clear why he believes "Rage" should no longer be available in print.

In his novel "Blaze," he affirms that it is now out of print and a positive outcome.

Furthermore, during a speech in 1999, he provided a further explanation, referring to a tragic school shooting in 1997.

The perpetrator, a 14-year-old named Michael Carneal, had a copy of "Rage" during the incident.

The devastating outcome, with three lives lost and five people injured, compelled King to take action and request the book's withdrawal from circulation.

The decision to discontinue "Rage" comes as a result of Stephen King's concern about the book's potential influence on vulnerable individuals.

In the book "Rage," a high school student who has been expelled carries out a terrible act of violence at the school.

He kills two teachers and threatens to harm other students unless certain demands are met.

By the end of the story, the shooter is arrested, but due to mental health reasons, he is found not guilty and is sent to a psychiatric hospital for treatment.

As Stephen King's decision takes effect, the book will become increasingly rare, with only existing copies remaining as a testament to its existence.
