The truth behind the juice ingredients

The fruit juice in question is called Swing, a product made by Hector Beverages. Each 150ml sachet contains around 19g of sugar.

But what’s really inside these juices? According to Healthline, the drinks are made using fruit juice concentrate.

This concentrate is essentially fruit juice with most of the water removed.

To make the juice taste better and last longer, additives are included.

While concentrate is more processed than fresh juice, some concentrates are healthier than others.

What’s the healthiest option?

If you want the healthiest option, go for 100% fruit concentrate. This kind of juice retains more nutrients and is sweetened only with natural fruit sugars.

Of course, any snack or sugary treat is fine in moderation. However, it’s important to read the ingredients list before handing your child a juice pouch.

While fruit juice pouches may seem like a harmless snack, the production process and ingredients raise concerns.

With the amount of sugar and additives involved, it’s important to be cautious about what we consume.

Parents should check the ingredients and consider healthier alternatives for their children.
