he meat—already a blend of pork, beef, and chicken—is pushed through a metal plate with pierced holes.

Next, chicken trimmings join the ground meat, along with food starch, salt, and other flavorings. Water is sprayed into the mix, creating a homogenous blend.

The process added sweetness and juiciness to create hot dogs

Manufacturers incorporate corn syrup to add sweetness, along with additional water to make the hot dogs juicier and to help mix the ingredients thoroughly. A

nother machine then shreds the meat batter into a fine emulsion, vacuuming out any air in the mixture.

This step ensures a consistent texture.

They shaped the hot dogs.

To achieve the classic hot dog shape, cellulose tubing is loaded into a stuffing machine.

The meat puree is pumped into this casing, resulting in hot dogs typically measuring around 13 cm in length.

The process involves cooking and flavor infusion

Brace yourself for a shocking revelation: it takes just 35 seconds to create a string of hot dogs that could span the length of a football pitch—twice!

The hot dogs move through an oven with several cooking zones. Liquid smoke showers infuse that classic hot dog flavor, traveling from the casing into the meat during baking.

The hot dogs are placed onto a conveyor belt for unloading and packaging.

After baking, the hot dogs are drenched in salty water to cool them. They then travel through the factory to an unloading zone, where factory workers remove any black marks on the casing. Once cleared, the hot dogs are ready for packaging.
