The production of pre-packaged sandwiches is totally different from what you've ever thought.

The process of making pre-packaged sandwiches has recently come as a shock to many people.

A YouTube video has revealed the behind-the-scenes production methods of these sandwiches, leaving viewers baffled.

The discussion surrounding this topic was ignited by a YouTube video from the popular channel "How It's Made," which provided a behind-the-scenes look at the entire manufacturing process of pre-packaged sandwiches in an American factory.

The video revealed two primary methods employed in the production, depending on the specific requirements of the customer.

The first method involves a combination of manual and machine.

The first step requires workers to align fresh bread slices into an automated machine, visually inspecting them, and removing any flawed slices.

After that, the machine will separate the bread slices and spread melted butter on them.

The buttered slices then move along the production line, where an automated depositor squirts the desired quantity and type of mayonnaise onto each slice.

Next, workers manually add specific ingredients such as cold cuts or grated cheese.

The entire process seems normal until viewers discover a detail that turns the process horrifying.

Surprisingly, viewers were shocked to observe that the workers in the video were not wearing gloves while handling the sandwiches.

Finally, the sandwiches are closed, stacked, and sent to a mechanized cutter, where the halves are packaged together as one sandwich.

The second method involves a fully automated assembly line.

In this process, a robot places bread slices onto a moving belt, which is then adjusted by positioning plates.

Nozzles dispense the sandwich ingredients onto the slices, with an example shown in the video featuring egg salad sandwiches.

Robotic arms flip the next slices onto the filled ones and an ultrasonic knife cuts the sandwiches in half.

Following that, the halves are stacked, placed in triangular plastic trays, sealed, and labeled by machines.

Finally, workers on the semi-automated assembly line manually stack the sandwiches into individual plastic-lined cardboard packages.

The packages are sealed shut, and the sandwiches are delivered to store shelves within 12 hours of production, remaining fresh for an additional three days.

The video revealing the process of making pre-packaged sandwiches on YouTube has reached more than 8,000 views and more than 1,200 comments.

However, not all opinions are positive, with some people even declaring their abandonment of pre-packaged sandwiches after witnessing the entire process of making them.

A person working at a school kitchen expressed surprise when he saw workers in the video handling food with their bare hands before selling it to millions of people around the world.

Another quipped, "I love how a female worker's wedding ring in the video touches each sandwich she handles."

In addition, some people working in the same industry were also shocked by the packaged sandwich production process in the video.
