However, recently, she informed me that the home where she lived for 6 years would skyrocket from $300 a week to $630 on January 1 after it was sold to a new owner

In the video, the single mom explained, 'I just don't know what I'm meant to do now. This is literally so embarrassing.

'(I'm) facing homelessness from the end of the lease.'

She admitted that half of her income was spent on paying for her home.

She said in the video that she spends a part of her income on rent. She has little left for other essential expenses like her son's ADHD appointments. Ms. Brooking reached a breaking point.

In the video that was shared on Titok, she said that she is facing homelessness after her rent doubled before Christmas day.

In the video, she recounted: 'Her response to that was that if I don't vacate the premises by January 1, the new owners can take me to court,'

'I just don't know what to do at this time. It's literally embarrassing."

She sobbed and said that she had applied for dozens of rental properties but was rejected. So, as a last resort, she turned to her real estate agent.

In the video, she recounts that she paid lower rent for the property through the National Rental Affordability Scheme, which offers lower rent for low-income households

However, the single mom faced a predicament when the new owners decided to withdraw from the program, listing the property on the open rental market.

She continued to update her story in the follow-up video. She believed that she and her son would be moving into a friend's room while searching for more permanent accommodation within their budget. Additionally, their dog and cat will take care of the family and friends during this challenging time.

She added, 'I wasn't crying because I would have to pay more than $300 rent; I was just crying because I was stressed out—I don't have anywhere to live,' Ms. Brooking explained.

'I'm being rejected for every single house I've applied for.'

Below the video, numerous users expressed sympathy for her and offered prayers due to her challenging financial situation
