The latest evidence regarding Mars proves that humans can inhabit Mars in the future

Scientists have recently discovered evidence of life on Mars, leading to the belief that humans could potentially inhabit the red planet in the future.

This groundbreaking information has been discovered thanks to the NASA Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover, which has been diligently exploring the planet to find the signs of life.

NASA scientists have focused their attention on the Jezero Crater, a 28-mile-wide area believed to have once contained a lake connected to a river.

Unravelling Mars' geological secrets thanks to Perseverance rover

A new study published in Science Advances by a researcher reveals that the samples collected by the rover hold great promise in supporting these theories.

If the area indeed represents a delta, it provides further evidence that Mars was once home to water, which could have made it habitable for life to exist.

Planetary scientist David Paige, from the University of California Los Angeles, emphasizes the limitations of observing Mars from orbit.

While various deposits can be seen, it is challenging to determine their original state versus the outcome of long geological processes.

To gain a deeper understanding of their formation, it is necessary to explore beneath the surface.

Fortunately, the Perseverance Rover has solved this problem easily.

The rover can map soil layers up to 10 meters below the Martian surface, providing valuable insights. Additionally, it has successfully collected sediment samples, bringing us closer to unraveling Mars' geological history.

More research is needed to identify the sample from Mars

The full extent of the rover's findings will only be known upon its return to Earth, but the current progress is already a potential breakthrough in our quest to determine if life once thrived on Mars.

The study also highlights that the sequence of events in the Jezero Crater contains the rich history of Mars's geological formations.

However, to better understand the process, scientists need to conduct more research and analyze samples collected from the Red Planet to comprehensively view this 'potential planet'.
