Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag discuss their ‘life-changing’ journey following the devastating loss of their home in the LA wildfires.
He speaks openly about starting over
Heidi Montag and her husband lost their home in the devastating LA wildfires earlier this month.
The fires caused unprecedented destruction, leaving thousands of homes destroyed across Los Angeles County.
Pratt, best known for his role in “The Hills”, has been candid about the challenges his family faces.
On January 8, Pratt and Montag watched from afar as their home was consumed by flames.
How the family is rebuilding their lives
Since losing their home, Pratt, Montag, and their two sons—seven-year-old Gunner and two-year-old Ryker—have had to start from scratch. On TikTok, Pratt expressed the emotional and financial toll of the loss.
“Everything in our house was paid for by Heidi and me hustling any way we could,” Pratt shared. “We’re starting at zero now.”
The couple is now using social media to document their journey and create new income streams. Pratt’s TikTok following has grown by over a million since the tragedy, helping him generate revenue.
The financial impact of TikTok and public support
However, TikTok Live has proven more lucrative. Pratt shared, “I made $4,000 on TikTok this week, but on TikTok Live, people gave me direct support—around $20,000.”
This direct support has been life-changing for the family. “The power of individual supporters, people backing you, is phenomenal,” Pratt said. “It’s incredible when human beings just want to give.”
GoFundMe and community support
A GoFundMe page was also created to help the family rebuild. The campaign has raised over $135,000 so far. The funds will be used to purchase essentials like clothes, food, and household items.
The GoFundMe description explains: “Spencer, Heidi, and their boys lost everything in the Pacific Palisades fire. This will help them rebuild their lives.”
The devastation caused by the wildfires
The LA wildfires began on January 7, with multiple fires breaking out across the region. The Palisades Fire alone has burned 23,713 acres and is now 56% contained. The Eaton Fire, which scorched 14,021 acres, is 81% contained.
Authorities confirmed that at least 27 people have died in the fires, and entire neighborhoods have been reduced to rubble. However, despite the tragedy, Pratt remains hopeful.Through community support and social media efforts, the family is rebuilding their lives.
In short, Pratt’s story is a testament to resilience and the generosity of supporters worldwide.
