Kalin, the mother kangaroo, keeps her joey hidden in a seemingly fluffy and furry carrier on the outside.

However, a startling video reveals that the interior of the kangaroo's pouch is a red fleshy sac where the baby resides, feeding on its mother's four milk ducts.

Since being shared by the zoo in Florida, the video has amassed over 70 million views and garnered nearly 1.4 million comments on TikTok, leaving viewers in utter astonishment.

The unexpected appearance of the video on their For You Page left some TikTok users feeling "upset," "horrified," and "traumatized."

During this period, the joey attaches itself to one of the milk ducts, remaining there for approximately three-and-a-half to four months. As time progresses, Joey gradually starts venturing out and exploring the world further away from their mother.

Due to the warm temperatures, a kangaroo's pouch can become sweaty, and the joey's defecation inside further contributes to its dirtiness. As the joey starts venturing and exploring, it also tracks dirt inside the pouch.

To maintain cleanliness, the mothers employ a unique method. They insert their entire heads into their pouches and use their tongues to scrape out the soil and droppings.
