Every animal is born with a unique appearance, but some have weird traits that surprise us and capture our attention. One of the best examples is Eris, a Borzoi hunting dog from Richmond, Virginia, USA, whose nose is over 30cm long. Eris was adopted by Lily and Savannah in July 2018, and as a puppy, no one knew how long her nose would be.
However, as Eris grew, her unusual nose became more and more apparent, and by her 2nd birthday, it was already over 30cm long. Lily and Savannah believe that Eris may hold the record for the longest-nosed dog in the world.
Lily Kambourian shared that Eris's long nose is due to a genetic defect, but it doesn't bother them. Eris is a friendly dog who likes to sit on her husband's lap. Although veterinarians have warned Lily about potential dental problems that could arise from Eris's long fangs digging into her gums, Eris shows no signs of discomfort.
The Borzoi breed originated in Russia in the 17th century, and the aristocracy favored the breed for its unique appearance and excellent hunting skills. Check out Eris and her amazing nose in the video below!
