Goose, the shelter dog with the loudest bark, was known for howling when he felt anxious or abandoned. He had been adopted twice before, but both times, his happiness was short-lived.
Adopt An ANGEL animal shelter staff members have always been impressed by Goose's hound bark.
The first time Goose was taken in, he cried after being separated from his mother, while his second adoption ended abruptly when his owners split up.
With one of them bringing him back to the shelter without informing the other. However, his howls were even louder when he returned to the shelter for the third time.
The third time around, the shelter staff knew that they needed to find Goose a family that he could stay with forever.
During an adoption fair, one of Goose’s dad's best friends stumbled across him and immediately recognized him.
Upon hearing that Goose was back at the shelter again, Goose's dad was shocked. Even though he couldn't take Goose in himself, he was determined to adopt him into his family.
Goose's dad made a determined effort to adopt his dog back into his family and drove all the way from Florida to North Carolina, reuniting with his beloved pup in less than four days.
When Goose saw his dad again, he went completely quiet, a stark contrast to his usual howling.
It was as if he knew that his people were here, and he no longer had to scream for them. After their reunion, Goose and his dad embarked on their first road trip together to Florida.
Ever since Goose's grandpa offered to give him a permanent home, he has been thriving and doing well. Jones is relieved to know that Goose no longer has a reason to cry, as he spends his days running around his new fenced-in yard and playing with his dog cousins.
