Yet, many cases surpass nature’s law when these two animals, live together happily ever after, even can be considered as soulmates.
There’s a sharing posted on Baidu on 11/09 about the heartfelt friendship between Spike and Mcpeek. The story starts when both of them are adopted by a family since birth, and the two have been partners in crime ever since.
The unusual occurrence started in the sixth year of living together under one roof, Spike - the dog suddenly got a fatal disease, and even after going through many treatments but still, his eyes couldn’t be saved.
After two years of trying to care for Spike, with thorough consideration, the owners knew that it was too much for them to raise a handicapped doggo and decided to send him to a shelter.
Mcpeek seems to see this fact somehow, and she is continuously acting strangely. The owner shared: “The cat looked depressed, refused to eat and drink, she would just follow Spike; the two were inseparable.”
What’s shocking is what happened after everything was ready to get Spike to move to the shelter, Mcpeek decided to stick next to her dearest friend, with no sign of leaving whatsoever with her owners.
The owner continues: “Since Spike became blind, Mcpeek always acted as Spike’s guide. The family wouldn’t want to separate the two, but we have no other choice.”
Eventually, the family decided to let the two friends live together at the shelter. The shelter’s staff were extremely touched knowing the two’s story, and they started posting about it on their website, hoping to find a new owner who was willing to take them in.
The emotional story about Spike and Mcpeek spread on the internet at lightning speed, causing many to tear up. Many negative opinions were made about the previous owners’ heartless decision. But after all, like a rainbow after the rain, there was a young lad who had taken in the two buddies and given them a new loving home.
