JK Rowling, the creator of Harry Potter, has recently expressed her unforgiving stance towards stars Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe.
She made it clear that any attempts from the pair to seek her forgiveness would be futile.
Rowling expresses her anger towards supporters who are against her views on the transgender community.
In a recent outburst, Rowling expressed her anger towards the Harry Potter actors, including Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe.
They support transgender rights together, against Rowling's opinion.
One of her supporters responded by anticipating a public apology from Watson and Radcliffe, assuming Rowling would forgive them.
However, Rowling snapped back, stating that celebrities who supported a movement she believes is eroding women's rights should save their apologies.
She referred to a user who suggested that Radcliffe and Watson could apologize to mend their relationship with Rowling.
“Not safe, I'm afraid. Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women's hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single-sex spaces."
Previously, the Harry Potter author faced criticism following accusations of transphobia against Rowling.
Rowling first encountered significant backlash for her views in 2020.
In 2020, Rowling shared a link to an article titled 'Opinion: Creating a More Equal post-COVID-19 World for People Who Menstruate' and suggested alternative words like "Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?"
At that time, Rowling faced accusations of transphobia for mocking language intended to be inclusive of the transgender community.
Following the incident, Harry Potter stars, including Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe, spoke out in support of the trans community.
Watson and Radcliffe's differing views and opposition to Rowling regarding the transgender community
Watson and Radcliffe, on the other hand, hold views that starkly contrast Rowling's. They have publicly spoken out against transphobia, making their stance clear.
Watson's supportive message after Rowling mocked transgender inclusivity
Watson voiced her support, saying, "Trans people are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned or told they aren’t who they say they are.
"I want my trans followers to know that I and so many other people around the world see you, respect you and love you for who you are."
Radcliffe apologized for the pain caused by Rowling's comments
Radcliffe said at the time: "Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional healthcare associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I.
"I am still learning how to be a better ally, so if you want to join me in learning more about transgender and nonbinary identities check out The Trevor Project's Guide to Being an Ally to Transgender and Nonbinary Youth," Radcliffe added.
Other Harry Potter stars have made statements against Rowling's opinions regarding the transgender community.
The actor who played Ron Weasley stated in a 2020 release, 'I firmly stand with the trans community, echoing sentiments expressed by many of my peers. Trans women are women. Trans men are men.'
In 2022, speaking to the Independent, the actor who played Dudley Dursley expressed his belief simply: "Transgender women are women, and transgender men are men."
