A woman believes her friends avoid inviting her to Christmas dinners because they fear her beauty might attract their partners.
Marina Smith, a 34-year-old influencer from São Paulo, Brazil, recently shared an unusual reason for being left out of her friends’ Christmas dinner plans.
According to Marina, her friends decided not to invite her because they feared her beauty would tempt their husbands and boyfriends.
With over a million followers on social media, Marina is no stranger to attention, but this situation has left her feeling hurt and confused.
The woman discovered she was excluded from Christmas dinner plans.
Marina learned about the decision through one of her friend’s boyfriends.
She revealed that a WhatsApp group had been created to plan the dinner, and Marina was not included. This news shocked her.
She felt excluded and wondered why her friends would think that her beauty would pose a threat to their relationships.
“I’ve been banned from Christmas dinner because the women think I’ll steal their men,” Marina said.
“They’re worried I might tempt their husbands and boyfriends.”
Marina said: “The boyfriend of one of my friends told me that a WhatsApp group had been created and I wasn’t in it.
“He said that in the group chat, my friends were discussing their concerns about my presence at the dinner.
“Even considering the possibility of not inviting me due to the fear that my beauty and single status would attract unwanted attention from their husbands and boyfriends.”
Marina has been single since early 2024.
Being single since the beginning of 2024, Marina has not had a romantic partner to bring to the gathering.
This single status seems to have added to her friends’ worries.
They believe that her looks could attract unwanted attention from their partners.
Marina pondered why her friends would doubt her intentions, saying, “I never made advances toward their partners. I’m a respectful woman.”
“My last relationship didn’t end well, after the breakup, my ex-boyfriend even charged me for a café bill we shared during the relationship.
“He always liked to split everything.
“Sharing expenses wasn’t a problem, but it reached a point where it became exhausting so it only lasted eight months.”
Marina has been on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
After a tough breakup early in the year, she has focused on her career and personal growth.
She stated that her last relationship ended poorly, with her ex-boyfriend even asking her to pay for a coffee they shared.
This experience made her more cautious about whom she dates.
“I’m very selective about the men I get involved with,” she said. “I’m not in a rush, and I’m not a needy woman.”
Marina feels increasingly isolated from her friends’ gatherings.
Despite her confidence, Marina feels let down by her friends’ insecurities.
She has noticed that being single sometimes limits her social life.
Her friends often go out with their partners, leaving her feeling alone.
Now, with her beauty being seen as a threat, she feels even more isolated.
“Being single already limits my outings, but now my friends think my beauty is an insecurity for them,” she lamented.
‘But now me being single and beautiful is an insecurity for them!’
The woman dresses to feel good, not for others.
Marina insists that her appearance is for herself, not to attract attention. “I dress to feel good,” she said.
Her intent is not to make others uncomfortable, but it seems her friends do not see it that way.
She plans to confront her friends about their worries and express how their actions have affected her.
“I used to trust my friends blindly, but apparently, they didn’t trust me,” she noted.
She prefers spending Christmas alone, not feeling unwanted.
As Christmas approaches, Marina has decided how to spend the holiday.
She expressed that she would prefer to stay home alone rather than feel out of place at a dinner where she is not wanted.
“At this point, I’d rather spend Christmas alone,” she stated.
“Yes, I’m a beautiful woman, but that’s not a reason for anyone to leave me out.”
