The screenwriter creates the script, and the directors are the ones who bring those works to life. Actors will perform according to the director's vision to create an outstanding piece of art.

However, there are many actors who want to perform based on their own preferences and control the creative artistic direction.

Here are 10 actors on the list who have the power to control and refuse to comply with the director's requests.

1. Kirsten Dunst — Spider-Man 2

During filming, the director repeatedly asked actress Kirsten Dunst to straighten and replace her imperfect teeth to better match the character's appearance in the film.

However, the actress refused to conform to society's standards of beauty and instead chose to keep her own smile. Her decision was supported by her friends, and now she is confident in her unique smile.

2. Keanu Reeves — John Wick

The idea for the character of John Wick was that of a 75-year-old man, and the director initially considered two names as suitable candidates for the role in the film:

Clint Eastwood and Harrison Ford. However, after the director met Reeves, the ending was different. Reeves embodies all the elements of this role perfectly. He also worked on the script, turning the character into a true middle-aged version of John Wick.

3. Samuel L. Jackson — Snakes on a Plane

Actor Samuel L. Jackson agreed to be in the film because he found the name interesting and appealing. However, the film crew suddenly changed the title to Pacific Airways 121, and the reason given by film crew was that they did not want to reveal the plot. Immediately, Jackson made a request to them: keep the original name, or he will leave the project. And that's why there's the ironic 2006 action movie with Jackson's bold idea.

Actress Jenna changed some of the dialogue to make the movie "Wednesday" more engaging and exciting.

5. Henry Cavill — The Witcher

In interviews, stars Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra, who played Yennefer, convinced producers to revisit their characters' reunion scenes and focus only on their feelings and touches. They just acted in a kiss scene and did not act in an overly intimate scene.

"Superman's notorious villain Lex Luthor caused a stir. Director Richard Donner had Gene Hackman shave his head in the manner of the bald character in the comics. But the actor still refuses to shave his head or wear a hat. To fix this cliché, the director had Gene Hackman make his hair look like he was wearing a wig.

7. Carrie Fisher — Star Wars

The director asked actress Carrie Fisher to lose 10 pounds to fit her role in the first Star Wars film. Although the actress used to be very thin. But the actress is still maintaining her weight.  The result - The film turned out to be a huge success, and Fisher became famous for playing Leia.

In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Rickman didn't want to go with the script because he thought it would just complicate things.

The film's director, Frank Darabont, asked actor Morgan Freeman to play the role of Red, playing the harmonica gifted to him by his friend Andy, but the actor declined the role because he thought it was inappropriate and clichéd

10.  Dwayne Johnson — Shazam! and Black Adam

Dwayne Johnson played a key role in changing the direction of the Shazam movie. Johnson was able to convince the whimsical filmmakers to change their original idea and make separate films to honor each character's backstory.

Meanwhile, the actor has resisted suggestions from Hollywood executives to alter his bulky physique for blockbuster roles. The actor is still maintaining his muscular body, in line with Hollywood's aesthetic standards.
