MVP released a statement emphasizing the fight’s legitimacy.

They stated, “Rigging a professional boxing match is a federal crime in the United States. The Paul vs. Tyson match was sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR).”

According to MVP, both fighters gave their best efforts with no restrictions on their performance. The statement added, “Any agreement to the contrary would violate TDLR boxing rules.”

Claims of riging dismissed as insulting

MVP called the rigging accusations naive and disrespectful.

They argued, “Suggesting anything less than full effort from these fighters insults their dedication and the sport itself.”

MVP also highlighted the event’s significance. The bout marked Netflix’s debut in live professional sports, and MVP dismissed the notion that they would risk such an opportunity by violating competition rules.

One person said: Stevie Wonder could see that fight was rigged

A second wrote: It was always an exhibition fight it was never going to the finish.

While a third commented: Real boxing fans could tell it was 100% rigged because Tyson was CLEARLY holding back.

Another added: It was pretty obvious when you look at Tyson’s training videos as well as him pulling punches during the match.

Someone else said: Is there anyone who doesn’t think the fight was rigged? It’s so blatantly obvious that it was.

While, this skepticism mirrors criticism Paul has faced in previous matches, often involving older or retired fighters.

MVP Co-founder addresses the allegations

Additionally, Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP, responded to accusations of fight rigging.

“Claims of rigging are nothing new for Jake,” Bidarian said. “People have doubted his abilities since day one.”

He described the accusations as backhanded compliments. “Jake’s success has exceeded expectations, and his records speak for themselves,” Bidarian explained.

Jack Paul’s track record and critics

Paul has defeated notable names, including UFC champions Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. He also faced retired MMA fighters like Nate Diaz and Ben Askren.

Despite these victories, critics often question the credibility of his wins due to the age and career stage of his opponents.

Paul’s only professional boxing loss was against Tommy Fury. Fury is now set to face former UFC fighter Darren Till in an upcoming match.
