A mother-of-two from Newcastle claims she can’t sleep after capturing a disturbing photo of a ghostly figure standing behind her son. The eerie image shows a child-like apparition with a hand on her nine-year-old son’s shoulder.

Laura took the photo during a visit to Plessey Woods Country Park in Northumberland. She was enjoying a family outing on a sunny bank holiday Monday.
Her children, Byrin Watson, nine, and Charlotte Hill, 15, along with their cousin Jack, 16, decided to climb a large tree. Laura took photos of the moment, not expecting what she would find later.

After returning home, Laura examined the photo on her computer. To her shock, a child’s face appeared behind Byrin, despite no one being in the area at the time.
“There was no one behind the tree,” Laura explained. “My daughter or nephew would have noticed if anyone was there.”
The image shows a small child’s face, with a hand placed on Byrin’s shoulder. Laura insists that the photo is authentic. “It was literally taken on my phone,” she said. “I wouldn’t know how to Photoshop it. It looks like a child, but we were alone at the time.”
Initially skeptical of paranormal phenomena, Laura’s beliefs changed after seeing the photograph. “I never believed in anything like that until I saw this for myself,” she admitted. The sight left her feeling terrified. She struggled to sleep that night, and even received messages from friends offering prayers for protection.

On social media, some speculated the figure could be the spirit of a boy who drowned in the woods years ago. Laura, however, isn’t sure. “I don’t know much about the history of the woods,” she said. “But people are saying a young boy drowned in the river. I can’t confirm if that’s true.”
Others questioned if the apparition could be a long-lost relative of Byrin. But Laura quickly dismissed this idea. “Byrin doesn’t have a twin, and no one in our family has died recently,” she explained.
