captures a woman standing in the exact same spot nine years apart, sparking amazement and speculation about the coincidence.
A remarkable coincidence caught on camera
A UK mom experienced a surreal moment after spotting herself in the same place on Google Maps—nine years apart.
Leanne Cartwright from Carlisle was captured twice in identical locations on Google Street View.
The first image was taken in April 2009, and the second appeared in August 2018.
The 41-year-old civil servant and mom of one said she was ‘flabbergasted’ to see herself in a near-identical pose after almost a decade.

Standing in the same spot years later
In both images, Leanne is holding shopping bags and standing near a traffic light at an intersection on Victoria Place, Carlisle.
Despite changes to the store behind her and sidewalk signs, her position remains strikingly the same.
In 2009, she wore a jacket over a white shirt and slacks, while in 2018, she was in a black dress with her left hand resting on her hip.
Her husband, Richard, first noticed the unusual find while searching for the original 2009 image.

The Routine behind the coincidence
Leanne admitted to being a creature of habit. The 2009 image was taken during her morning walk to work, while the 2018 shot captured her on a lunch break.
Her workplace found it hilarious, so she decided to share it online. ‘I don’t know anyone else this has happened to,’ she said.
By 2020, she had broken the streak. Remote work due to the pandemic kept her from appearing on Google Street View again.
However, she remains hopeful for another chance. ‘If I see the Google car again, I’ll have to jump on the same spot,’ she said.
‘You never know, I might be there next time. It’ll make me smile when I walk past.’

A viral social media moment
Leanne posted the pictures on Facebook on September 12th, where she was humorously compared to a ‘time traveler.’ She called the discovery a ‘one-in-a-billion’ coincidence.
‘I’m standing on exactly the same paving slab, still carrying a bag on my shoulder,’ she wrote. ‘It’s so funny but so bizarre.’
She recalled spotting the Google car during its first pass in 2009, later checking Street View when the images were published. Her colleagues also found the situation amusing.
Additionally, many viewers also express their shock about Leanne’sremarkable coincidence was captured on Google view.
