Its repeated appearance has triggered ongoing questions about Donald Trump’s health.
The Trump campaign says repetitive handshakes are the cause of the bruise
When questioned earlier this year, a Trump campaign official told DailyMail.com that the bruising results from frequent handshakes.
Theysaid the mysterious large bruise reappearing on donald trump’s hand is likely due to campaign-related physical interactions.
Additionally, they explained Trump’s routine involves greeting hundreds of supporters daily, which they claim can lead to such superficial injuries.
The bruise first became visible last fall when Trump left the campaign trail briefly to attend a high-profile dinner in Manhattan.
At that event, he wore a tuxedo and appeared with the same hand mark, again slightly obscured with makeup.
A doctor weighs in: Is Trump’s hand bruise a sign of something more serious?
According to Dr. Ola Otulana, a UK-based physician, the bruise appears to be a superficial contusion caused by minor trauma or pressure to the area.
He said such bruises may come from bumping the hand, gripping objects tightly, or from procedures like blood draws or IV insertions.
Dr. Otulana added that older adults are prone to bruising due to thinning skin and fragile blood vessels. This is especially true if they take medications like aspirin or blood thinners.
He explained: ‘This could occur from something as everyday as bumping the hand against a hard surface, repeated pressure – for example from leaning on a cane or gripping something firmly – or even medical procedures such as venepuncture, or blood draw’.
While the mark does not appear alarming, the physician warned that ongoing symptoms would require further medical evaluation.
Past sightings of Trump’s bruise have stirred social media speculation
Previously, many viewers were stunned after spotting the same bruise on Trump’s hand at several recent events.
It was clearly visible during his Fox News town hall and at the Al Smith Dinner last October.
Observers pointed out what looked like foundation makeup used to mask the discoloration.
However, the makeup didn’t always match his natural skin tone.
Photos taken during his court appearances also show the mysterious spot. It appears repeatedly in the same location on his right hand, including at campaign rallies.
