California man issues an apology

In response to the backlash, Diaz posted an apology on his company’s website and YouTube channel.

He expressed deep regret for his actions and said he was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

‘I am deeply sorry and I take full responsibility. We didn’t go to San Francisco to target anyone or cause trouble. We were there to watch a Giant’s game and this happened on the way out,’ he said.

Diaz claimed he did not intend to cause harm and said he was merely responding to provocation.
