Given the online speculation, it’s essential to consider Tesla’s official stance.

According to Tesla’s website, the company does not recommend taking the Cybertruck through automatic car washes.

Instead, Tesla suggests using isopropyl alcohol wipes for cleaning minor stains.

They also offer a ‘Car Wash Mode’ that drivers can activate when visiting a car wash.

Tesla warns, “Failure to put the Cybertruck in Car Wash Mode may result in damage to the charge port or windshield wipers.”

Importantly, any damage from car washes is not covered by the vehicle’s warranty.

Since its launch in 2023, the Cybertruck has been tested in various water conditions.

Earlier this year, a video showed a Cybertruck navigating through deep water.

Additionally, another Cybertruck utilized ‘Wade Mode,’ which provides reminders about the car’s warranty.

It’s important to note that entering bodies of water can invalidate the warranty.

While driving through water may seem adventurous, taking any vehicle through water or a car wash can be risky.

The incident with the Tesla Cybertruck’s ban from a Los Angeles car wash raises concerns about vehicle maintenance and design.

While Tesla offers guidelines to protect the Cybertruck, many remain skeptical about its compatibility with traditional car washes.
