Donald Trump has officially kicked off his annual summer stay at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, a sprawling estate in New Jersey known as his “Summer White House.”
Over the coming weeks, Trump will spend extended time at the luxury compound with Melania Trump and their children. They will enjoy family life and golf, far from the political spotlight.
Located on 500 acres in Somerset County, Bedminster offers the Trump family full privacy and country club opulence. The estate includes cottages for each family member and elite amenities. It also features secure accommodations designed specifically for the former president.
Bedminster offers private, luxurious leisure for the Trump family
The Bedminster compound offers privacy, leisure, and custom luxury for each member of the Trump family.
Bedminster is not just a golf club—it’s a secluded summer retreat tailored to the Trump family’s lifestyle.
The estate features two championship golf courses, along with tennis and pickleball courts. It also includes a spa, yoga studio, and a helipad for fast arrivals.
Each Trump family member has access to personalized golf carts and private lodging.
Meals can be enjoyed either at the elegant clubhouse or in their personal cottages. Even within the property, family members travel by golf cart to visit one another or navigate the expansive grounds.
Melania was reported to have arrived earlier.
The First Lady arrived at Bedminster earlier in the week.
She flew from Washington, D.C. after attending a Senate Spouses’ luncheon.
Donald Trump followed on Friday, marking the start of what is expected to be a summer filled with family time and leisure.
Unlike during his presidency, Trump no longer spends most of his time in Washington or at Mar-a-Lago.
He now enjoys extended stays at Bedminster during the warmer months. This is especially true after Palm Beach’s social season ends.
Trump’s adult children visit the property
At various times during the summer, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Jr., and Eric and Lara Trump visit the estate.
While they no longer live in Washington, they maintain close ties and gather with the family at Bedminster during holidays or long weekends.
Each family member has their own cottage on the estate, complete with upgrades. Ivanka and Jared expanded theirs to include a basement, five bedrooms, and a private veranda. Donald Trump’s cottage now features a second-floor balcony, a turret, and picture windows. The Secret Service also installed a red brick wall around it for added protection.
For Trump, the commute is easy. Marine One can land right on the estate grounds, directly in front of his cottage, allowing for swift departures and arrivals. This proximity makes Bedminster an ideal base during busy summer months or campaign events.
Bedminster isn’t just a private estate
The Trump National Golf Club Bedminster is open for exclusive memberships. According to the Wall Street Journal, the initiation fee is reported at $125,000.
Members can rent rooms or private cottages.
The club also hosts high-end weddings in its ballroom, restored barn, and old stables—perfect for Instagram-worthy backdrops.
The property also holds deeper significance. In 2014, the Trumps received approval to build a family cemetery** on-site.
Ivana Trump, Donald Trump’s first wife, is buried there.
The original plans included a 10-plot mausoleum with a 19-foot stone obelisk.
Trump purchased Bedminster in 2002, when it was still under development. Originally known as Lamington Farm, it once belonged to John DeLorean, the automotive legend behind the iconic DeLorean car from Back to the Future.
Since then, Trump has transformed it into one of the country’s most prestigious golf clubs.
Bedminster has hosted multiple LIV Golf tournaments. This added sporting prestige to its already high-profile reputation.
