Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, a Jamaican track and field athlete, boasts three Olympic gold medals, four silver medals, and 10 world champion titles.

She competes in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay events, and is also a mother to a son named Zyon.

One might assume that the race would not be a close one, but when Shelly-Ann hit the track, everything changed.

During her son’s school sports day, Shelly-Ann stood out among the parents by not just participating but also dominating the competition.

While many parents joined the races, Shelly-Ann surged ahead on the 100m track, leaving her competitors far behind, as captured in a video by Instagram user Amelia Gordon.

She breezed down the 100m track, leaving a substantial gap between herself and the nearest competitor.

Initially not intending to participate, she felt compelled to step up and bring home the gold for her family.

“As an Olympian, it just didn’t make sense for us to leave without bringing home a single piece of gold so I decided to race,” she said.

“We ended up getting two bronze medals, overall 4th place, a participation medal, and a first place medal in the women’s parent race to redeem the Pryce family name.”

She expressed pride in her son, while viewers couldn’t help but joke about her involvement in the race.

While not all the parents could beat Shelly-Ann, they will always have the story of competing against an Olympic athlete to remember.

The viral video of the race has sparked a wide range of reactions on social media.

Some users were amazed to see an Olympic champion competing in such a casual setting.

Others joked about how the parents must have felt going up against one of the fastest women on the planet.

I’m so happy for that kid. Can you imagine knowing in a few hours everyone’s parents are going to show up for a foot race…. and that child gets to bring their parent to the race. So adorable, one user said.

Good on her! She works hard to be a champion. Great for kids to see how dedication and hard work pay off. What a privilege, the second user commented.

I remember a school sports day. Our P.E. teacher was an olympian coach.

The staff ran the 200 mtrs and he stayed at the back, until the last 100 and just accelerated past everyone and left them in his dust, the third user said.
