An 11-year-old girl has decided to retire from her successful business, which earned her $132,000 each month to focus more on her education.
Pixie Curtis, an 11-year-old girl from Australia, has made headlines recently for her impressive business success.
She earns over $132,000 a month from her online store, but she has decided to take a step back.
Pixie wants to focus on her schoolwork as she prepares to enter high school.
11-year-old girl retires from $132K monthly business to focus more on school
Pixie started her entrepreneurial journey during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Like many kids, she was looking for ways to keep busy and make some money. She began selling fidget toys, which quickly became popular.
This venture turned into a multi-million dollar business known as Pixie’s Pix.
Her mother, Roxy Jacenko, is also her manager and helps run the business. Together, they have created a successful brand that offers various accessories.
In her first month of business, Pixie earned an astonishing $143,000.
This success means that Pixie could easily retire by the age of 15 if she wanted to. However, she has chosen to semi-retire instead.
With high school approaching, Pixie feels it is important to prioritize her education.
While Pixie enjoys her success, she has also made some big purchases.
She celebrated a recent birthday with an extravagant party that cost over $28K.
Additionally, she owns a luxurious Mercedes Benz GL, valued at $193,000.
Despite her wealth, Pixie and her mother have decided to give back to the community.
They sent accessories to children’s charities such as Bear Cottage and Ronald McDonald House, spending over $21,000 on stock for those in need.
Roxy Jacenko spoke about daughter Pixie’s decision to semi-retire.
She mentioned that they had been discussing their business plans as a family.
Roxy believes that while the journey has been incredible, it’s time to shift focus as Pixie enters a new phase of life.
School is a big step, and Pixie wants to be fully prepared for it.
“Pixie has decided to hang her online toy store shoes up to focus on her impending entry into high school.
“In short, over the past few months, we have been discussing the business plans going forward as a family and decided that while it has been an amazing journey starting some three years ago,
it was time to refocus with high school just around the corner,” the mother said.
Pixie’s mother will continue to run her daughter’s successful business
The Pixie’s Pix store will continue to operate, but it will return to its roots.
Initially, the business began as a shop specializing in hair accessories and bows, known as Pixie’s Bows.
Roxy will help manage the store, but Pixie will have less pressure and more time for her studies.
This balance will allow her to enjoy her childhood while also preparing for her future.
She added: “While the Pixie’s Pix online store will remain, it will go back to how it began in 2011 – as the best destination for children’s hair accessories and hair bows known as Pixie’s Bows – something that we will continue to manage together but with a lot less time/pressure for Pixie.”
