A fitness model named Joel Hansen recently pushed his limits by consuming 24 cottage pies in one sitting.
This incredible feat resulted in him falling into a food coma that lasted for 10 hours.
Joel’s latest challenge took place at Cattlemans Steakhouse in Devon, UK, a venue well-known for its food competitions.
The fitness model embarks on a food challenege
Joel Hansen is no stranger to food challenges.
Just before this event, he had eaten an entire pig in Thailand, which left him unable to eat for two days.
However, he was eager to take on another big challenge.
At Cattlemans Steakhouse, he decided to double the usual food challenge amount by attempting to eat 24 cottage pies instead of the standard dozen.
The restaurant typically invites diners to finish 12 cottage pies in one hour. But Joel aimed higher, setting a personal record by asking for 24 pies.
Along with the pies, he also had to eat 600 grams of peas, 600 grams of carrots, and four pieces of garlic bread.
In total, this challenge involved consuming around 11,000 calories.
Joel started the challenge strong, finishing the first dozen pies in just 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
He found the first batch to be quite easy to eat because they were moist and delicious. However, the second set of pies proved to be much more difficult.
After eating 5 kilograms of food, he felt the strain on his stomach.
Despite the discomfort, Joel continued to eat. He managed to finish the second tray of pies with about 20 minutes remaining.
In just over 40 minutes, he completed the entire challenge, which amazed the restaurant staff and other diners.
Gary King, the owner of Cattlemans, praised Joel for his incredible effort.
He expressed that he didn’t believe anyone could eat that much food in such a short time.

After his impressive performance, Joel felt “horribly full.”
Consuming 9 kilograms of food in such a short time took its toll on him.
Once he finally lay down to sleep, his body went into a deep state of rest, leading to a food coma that lasted for 10 hours.
This experience was not one he would recommend to others, as he realized how challenging it was to eat that much food.
Joel later reflected on the challenge, saying, “It was quite a feat because physically and mentally I had to push myself to eat it.”
He did not expect to finish all the pies, especially the second set.
Although he felt “superhuman” after completing the challenge, he acknowledged that he was still just human, and the experience was overwhelming.
“I felt horrible after it and completely full. It’s not something I’d recommend anybody trying. I felt superhuman afterwards but no, I’m only human,” the man said.
The restaurant has gained a reputation for hosting food challenges, and Joel’s attempt has added to its fame.
Cattlemans Steakhouse plans to organize more food challenges in the future, featuring Joel again.
They announced plans to stream future challenges live on TikTok, allowing viewers to watch the excitement unfold.
